It’s finally fall so let’s fill your bookshelf with some fabulous fall books! These are my favorite fall books I read at circle to teach students all about the harvests, change of season, and events that fall brings. From a square pumpkin to a trip to the apple orchard these books are full of vibrant pictures and rhyming text which will get your students ready to enjoy everything the season has to offer.

Wonderfall
This book is about a tree and the changes it endures from the end of summer to the first snowfall of winter. The author incorporates the word fall into words throughout the book which makes this a fun and whimsy book to read.
Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf
The illustrations in this book are made up of watercolors and parts of trees. It also has a glossary that gives information on photosynthesis, sap, and other tree facts.
It’s Pumpkin Time!
A brother and sister decide to grow their own pumpkins for Halloween this. With colorful illustrations, the pumpkin patch comes to life as the sibling’s patch grows and the kids get to harvest their crop.
Ten Red Apples
Hurry to count the apples before the farmer and all of his animals eat them all up.
A Day at the Apple Orchard
This book is perfect to read right before a field trip to an apple orchard. The pictures were taken from an actual trip to pick apples. There is also useful information on the proper way to pick an apple.
Little Apple
Even though the seed of the apple tree is small, it still produces juicy apples for us to eat! With simple pictures and language, this book describes the life cycle of an apple from blossom to fruit.
The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin
Spookley is different than all of the other round pumpkins. He just wants to be included with all of the other pumpkins. This is a good book to read about friendship.
Apple Farmer Annie
Annie makes a lot of yummy treats out of the apples she grows. From applesauce to apple pie, Annie has a very fun and tasty job.
