These are my favorite light table tools and toys for preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten. You will find that there are so many different types of media, activities, and manipulatives we can use on light tables. At the light table, it’s important to change out materials to keep students engaged and learning. These are some of my absolute favorite light table tools that I wanted to share with you.

Favorite Light Table Tools for Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten
Light Table Options
First things first…. you will need a light table to use all of these wonderful tools. This one is great for a handful of kiddos to use.
Use this light table for a larger amount of students in a large classroom or STEM room (if your school is lucky enough to have one). It is waterproof and the perfect height for little learners.
This light table is perfect to use on a desk or tabletop which is perfect if you have a small classroom or home preschool. Students can complete individual or buddy activities with this option.
Rechargeable Tabletop Light Table
This is a great option for a light table that won’t break the bank! It is rechargeable and tabletop size. I think it is a good choice for a preschool, pre-k, or kindergarten room.
Light Table Building Materials
This set of colorful magnet tiles is great for students to lay flat and create or build up to make fabulous structures on their light tables.
Students can create cars and vehicles with these see-through wheelsets.
These neon building bricks are so much fun for little learners to build and manipulate on the light table. The light shines through and the colors are so bright! Plus, this set has 500 pieces!
Classic See-Through Building Bricks
Here is set of see-through building blocks in more classic colors. This set has 156 pieces.
These wooden blocks are so much fun with the rainbow windows that will work wonderfully on a light table. My students love to build and make designs with these blocks.
Grab this translucent marble run set to create something so fun on the light table. Marble runs are really captivating and can engage little learners for quite some time. I love that this one can be used on the light table too!
These plates are made of sturdy plastic that is translucent and works perfectly on light tables. Students can make designs with the plates or use dry-erase markers to write on the plates while on the light table.
These cups are made of the same plastic as the plates above. They come in bright colors and are great for stacking. The light shines through and makes the colors so bright!
Use these stir sticks to encourage students to use their imaginations while creating letters, numbers, or structures.
Light Table Math & Literacy Manipulatives
Transparent Letters and Numbers
Have students practice letter identification, number identification, letter sounds, and spelling words and their names with these transparent letters and numbers. They are a great size for students to manipulate on a light table.
This is a large set of letters that are smaller in size than the above set, but you get 260 pieces! They are bright and colorful to draw little learners in.
Letter Construction Activity Set
These see-through letters are perfect for light tables. Students can practice forming uppercase and lowercase letters.
These sensory letters are so much fun for little learners to squish and squeeze while playing at the light table center.
Practice counting, number recognition, addition, and more with these fun sensory numbers. They are squishy and colorful and allow students a sensory option at the light table area.
Practice sorting, color identification, and shape identification with these transparent buttons that are large in size. They are great for little learners to practice patterns too.
A bucket of 2D shapes is the perfect tool for light tables…. especially with this set that has over 400 shapes.
Use this set of translucent blocks to make a variety of patterns, shapes, and objects! This is where learning starts to get really fun.
