Fiction Books
A Rainbow Of My Own is the first title I am going to share with you. Have you ever imagined what it would be like to sit on a rainbow? Join this little boy as he imagines what it would be like to have a rainbow of his own and all the fun things he would do with it. This is the perfect book to get your students’ imaginations working and then have them draw a colorful picture to explain their thoughts.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is one of my favorite books to share with my students. It is such a fun book that can be used with preschools, pre-k students, or kindergarteners. They really enjoy using their imaginations to think about food falling from the sky, and as the sky gets angrier, the food gets bigger and more violent. After this book, I love doing drawing and writing activities to see what kind of food weather they wish would happen!
Freddy the Frogcaster is written by a meteorologist. It is so funny, and your students will learn about predicting the weather. Freddy is the best meteorologist in town, but he may have missed a storm. The town picnic is about to be rained on, but Freddy is going to save the day!
How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow is a cute story about friendship and determination. The sun and the clouds are best friends but get into an argument, and they will no longer share the sky. That means no rainbows, and the color slowly starts fading out of Earth. One little box of crayons must save the rainbows!
